Three House members from Minnesota, Ilhan Omar, Angie Craig and Kelly Morrison, claimed they were asked to leave a federal building Saturday morning after they requested an oversight visit. Earlier Saturday, Democratic Rep. As the Honda is reversing, another agent moves in front of the vehicle from the opposite side. Local leaders and advocates in Minnesota called for the ICE agent who fatally shot Renee Nicole Good to be publicly identified, fired and criminally prosecuted at a news conference on Thursday. Groups of neighbors across the city have organized over the past five weeks to follow ICE vehicles, honking along the way to warn they are coming. All shots appear to be fired after the agent is out of the way. The agent fired three shots, one at the front windshield and two more through the open driver’s side window as Good moves past.

Masked officers got out of their pickup truck, which was flashing blue police lights, and walked up to the SUV demanding the woman “get out of the car.”

As they were attempting to push the vehicle, she said a woman “attacked them and those surrounding them” and “attempted to run them over and ram them with her vehicle.”

The Department of Homeland Security said she attempted to “weaponize her vehicle” to hit law enforcement officials.

The SUV then sped into two cars parked on a curb nearby before crashing to a stop.

The official White House account later posted on X, saying, “We stand with the brave men and women of ICE and law enforcement who risk everything to keep our communities safe.”

Chief Brian O’Hara briefly described the shooting to reporters.

Protesters were also seen burning American flags while marching through Minneapolis near the scene of the shooting. Good, 37, was fatally shot by an ICE agent after allegedly blocking a road law enforcement were traveling down during an operation. People take part in a protest against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in New York on January 7, 2026 after an ICE officer shot dead a woman in Minneapolis. The vice president’s comments come after a woman was fatally shot Wednesday during an encounter with an ICE agent in Minneapolis. Renee Nicole Good, 37, was shot and killed on Wednesday by an ICE agent after she allegedly accelerated her car toward him during an immigration operation. However, federal officials said ICE officers were “conducting targeted operations” when “rioters” blocked officers.

The agent fired three shots, one at the front windshield and two more through the open driver’s side window as Good moves past.

“Irresponsible, reckless rhetoric from political leaders attacking law enforcement has real and dangerous consequences for officers on the street,” the association said in a statement.

“The fact of the matter is, he’s an experienced officer. Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara said the FBI and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are jointly investigating the shooting. Ilhan Omar, D-Minnesota, called Good a “legal observer” and said federal immigration agents’ actions were “unconscionable and reprehensible.” ICE officers said their vehicles are swarmed almost daily, resulting in “vehicular crashes, endangerment of officer and public safety, harassment, and even at least one arrest by local authorities.” The unit describes itself as an chicken road apk download “independent third party” that can investigate the use of deadly force by law enforcement, sexual misconduct cases involving an officer and other incidents. At the moment the shots were fired, the wheels of Good’s vehicle are turned to the right, angled away from the officer in front of the vehicle.

Shooting marks latest in series of ICE operations in US

That agent then moves to the side of the car, although it’s unclear if he was hit or not, and fires two more shots as the car continues moving forward. An ICE agent walks behind the car and circles around to the passenger side of the vehicle. One video taken by a man at the scene and provided to CBS Minnesota shows the woman in a maroon Honda Pilot SUV blocking the street with her car. But Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey blasted that characterization and the federal deployment of more than 2,000 officers as part of the immigration crackdown in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. The other that shows the shooting doesn’t capture the car making contact with the officer, but his body is seen moving out from the front of the vehicle and to the driver’s side of the car. The vehicle begins to move forward and, at the same time, the third officer who approached the car pulls out his pistol and points it at the woman while moving away from the front of the car. One of the two officers can be seen pulling on the woman’s driver-side door as the other officer reaches the front of the car from the other side.

ICE in Minnesota: Security barriers installed as more federal agents arrive

Former Chicago federal prosecutor Ron Safer said the tone of the violent Minneapolis encounter was set well before the actual gunshots. The Department of Justice says in its Justice Manual that firearms should not be used simply to disable a moving vehicle. “Our officer followed his training, did exactly what he’s been taught to do in that situation,” she said at a news conference in Minneapolis Wednesday evening. U.S. Senate Democratic Whip Dick Durbin called for a “full investigation,” saying “video of the incident starkly contradicts DHS’s narrative, and the fact that DHS has jumped to characterize this shooting in ‘self-defense’ is rushed, at best, and a lie, at worst.”

“An officer of ours acted quickly and defensively, shot, to protect himself and the people around him,” she said. Calls for an investigation are growing louder after an ICE agent fatally shot a woman in Minneapolis Wednesday. Multiple Democrats have called for an investigation into the shooting, which the Department of Homeland Security said happened when a woman attempted to ram an ICE agent during an operation. The shooting involving ICE agents happened in a Minneapolis neighborhood already tinged with national trauma.

What we know about the fatal ICE shooting in Minneapolis

Before the shooting, ICE officers said they admonished protesters who approached them in their vehicles and occasionally arrested protesters who assaulted or impeded officers. ICE officers described being “aggressively chased” down Minnesota streets, with numerous instances of their vehicles “being rammed, hit, and vandalized,” in a court filing two days before the fatal shooting. Protesters were also seen marching through Minneapolis streets and burning American flags near the shooting scene. Multiple elected officials, including New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., quickly called the shooting “a murder.”

The Right Response to the Minneapolis ICE Shooting

The Minnesota Police Department said that “over the course of the night, individuals threw snow, ice, and rocks at officers, police vehicles, and other vehicles in the roadway.” Tensions are flaring in Minneapolis after an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer fatally shot a 37-year-old woman on Wednesday. The video shows the officer later walking away from the car and telling others to call 911. The firing officer and the person who appeared to be filming him can be seen moving toward the woman and her car. The officer, who was out of the vehicle’s path, then fired two more shots.

While the Minneapolis City Council has demanded that ICE leave the city immediately, the Trump administration has asserted that the agent fired in self-defense.
